Today is the Full Moon in Cancer, and you might find yourself feeling more emotional or sensitive. Cancer is a water sign, so heightened emotions are to be expected, but this Full Moon is unique. It’s conjunct Mars Retrograde, amplifying emotional sensitivity and stirring up feelings like anger and grief from past hurts. You might notice emotions resurfacing—things you thought you had forgiven but are still active within you.
I’m writing today to reassure you that if old emotions are bubbling up, the Full Moon offers an opportunity for release if you choose to see it that way. Traditionally, the Full Moon is a time of releasing built-up energies from the lunar cycle. This is why we can sometimes feel a little “looney” during this phase. By consciously letting go of old energies, emotions, thoughts, and negative patterns that no longer serve us, we can create a clean slate. It’s a time for forgiveness and renewal.
Cancer’s connection to the past, family history, and old wounds may bring up relationship memories that feel heavy or even painful. However, as a mindset practitioner of over twenty years and someone committed to personal evolution, I know this is a golden opportunity to heal. How? Through forgiveness.
Now, I understand firsthand how incredibly difficult forgiveness can be. I never ask my clients to forgive if they don’t feel ready. But I also know there is no more powerful act than forgiveness. Some of the happiest and most peaceful individuals I have met and studied are those who have endured great pain yet found the ability to forgive. One book I found inspiring is Dr. Edith Eger’s autobiography The Choice: Embrace the Possible
The truth is forgiveness is not for others; it’s for yourself. As Alexander Pope wrote in An Essay on Criticism, “To err is human, to forgive divine.” We are human-beings and forgiveness can feel like a superhuman effort, especially when betrayal or hurt has lingered for years. You might think the person doesn’t deserve your forgiveness, and I understand that sentiment.
Why should you forgive someone who has no remorse or recognition of the pain they caused?
Because we are energetic beings. We absorb others’ energy, and if we don’t make a conscious effort to release it, it can weigh us down. You might feel tired, reactive, or find it hard to trust others because your subconscious is holding onto old wounds. This struggle is what inspired my own personal growth journey.
What if today, you made a commitment to take one small action to nurture yourself? Since Cancer is a water sign, here are some suggestions that align with today’s energy:
Create a cozy, nurturing environment. Soak in a warm bath, light candles, or play the soothing sounds of waterfalls. Make your space a sanctuary for emotional release.
Write down one limiting belief about forgiveness. For example, “He doesn’t deserve forgiveness.” Acknowledge it and consider how this belief might be holding you back.
Write what you want to release and manifest in relationships. Reflect on the patterns you’re ready to let go of and the qualities you wish to invite into your life.
Use water as a symbolic element for emotional cleansing. Imagine a beautiful shower raining down on you, washing away old emotions and energy. Visualize it all flowing down the
drain to be transformed into nurturing energy for yourself or those you love.
Rebalance with positivity. End your ritual with a gratitude practice to ground your energy and invite clarity and renewal or just say thank you to yourself for taking a step forward and taking care of yourself.
In my work with clients, I’ve found that even a small effort to release old energy can have a profound impact. When forgiveness feels too overwhelming, try a quick visualization like the cleansing shower. It’s a simple yet powerful way to shift your energy and create space for healing.
