Are you feeling stuck? As though you are on a treadmill and can’t get off?
Feeling stuck is the number one feeling people identify with when they reach out to me. The “stuck” feeling often applies to their careers, business goals, relationships, or weight.
What can you do to change the “stuck” feeling?
The first thing I have my clients do is grab a pen and paper (or journal!) and identify their status quo – i.e., write down what the problem is.
Then I ask them to think and the write down what the positive benefit is to having that initial problem.
If you think there is no positive benefit to feeling stuck – you’re wrong. If a problem is holding on and you are feeling stuck, more often than not there is a positive benefit to that feeling.
To uncover this positive benefit, you need to uncover the hidden belief or beliefs behind the problem. If you can’t identify this imagine what the positive benefit could be. As you think about this more and more you will become increasingly aware of your beliefs and then be able to examine your reactions and emotions surrounding those beliefs.
Once you uncover your beliefs, you can then work with them on a deeper level and work toward moving forward. Identifying these beliefs is just step one in the right direction!
Why are you feeling stuck? What do you think is the positive benefit of this feeling?
