It’s a new year with new things to do and accomplish. 2016 was a tough year for me personally and so this year I am choosing to focus on the here and now, which seems to be in line with many of the emails and phone calls I have received from clients looking to focus on goal setting.
I never used to like goal setting, but planning in three-month chunks has been really helpful for me and my business. Breaking your goals down into manageable time blocks can be inspiring and get your subconscious thinking about what you want to accomplish.
When thinking about goals, many people neglect to include mindset. I work with clients one-on-one on their beliefs and their mindset. What is your mindset in relation to the goals you wish to achieve this year? Will you achieve your goals if you don’t look at your mental and emotional attitude towards them?
For example, what is your money mindset? What beliefs–positive and negative–do you have around money? What beliefs are not serving you well when it comes to money? For example, if you don’t track the numbers in your business this can directly affect the financial success of your business. In order to get comfortable with your numbers, you need to sit down and look at them and start tracking your finances. I did this by investing in proper software that saved me at the end of the year when it came to handing things over to my accountant for tax time.
Is there anything in your mindset that you need to work on this year? What is preventing you from achieving your goals? What is preventing you from putting things into action–a belief or emotion?
If you have a goal you want to achieve this year, but you are having trouble achieving it then you may need to work on your mindset to uncover what beliefs could be blocking you from working toward that goal. If you’re unsure what could be blocking you, sit down with a friend or spouse and ask them if they have noticed something is troubling you–this may help you highlight what you need to work on in order to achieve your goal.
I also offer free consultations that may help you uncover some of these blocking beliefs. Your business and relationships will blossom once you dig into your beliefs and work on changing your mindset.
